Job Profile

As a CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) Installation Technician, you have to ensure successful installation of the CCTV for proper video coverage. You will design the system set up after communicating with customers to know their needs. You may have to do site surveys before planning the installation. You need to be updated about the latest CCTV-related products available in the market.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

As a CCTV Installation Technician, you will be engaged with one or more of the following roles and responsibilities: -

  • Installing, maintaining or repairingCCTV or related equipment, following blueprints of building plans and electrical layouts.
  • Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans or manuals to determine the kind of materials required for the installation.
  • Mounting and fixing control panels and CCTV parts.
  • Attaching electrical and network wiring to connect CCTV components.
  • Testing and repairing circuits and sensors.
  • Drilling holes for wiring and passing cables through roof spaces, access holes or cavity walls to connect the CCTV cameras.
  • Examining systems for locating problems like short circuits or loose connections.
  • Demonstrating the use and benefits of CCTV systems to customers and explaining the details to them.
